Philosophy
I started skiing in the 70s and rented equipment from several shops. I never did find a shop that I felt was operated with rental customer satisfaction as a primary business interest. City shops place far more emphasis on sales and I had to pick up my gear on my lunch hour Friday and return it on my lunch hour Monday. By the time I got to the ski area rental shop they knew they were the only game on the hill and that I'd pay whatever they asked and accept shoddy gear, unwaxed skis and wet boots. My goal was to operate a snow sports rental business that delivered the kind of service I wanted as a customer.
At White Pass Sports Hut, we open two hours before the lifts start to run and close two hours after they close. The resort is 20 miles away so same day pick up and drop off is simple. We guarantee a fresh wax on every ski that goes out the door or your rental is free for the day….even during the holidays. We offer a free computerized reservation list so that, once you have been in to be fitted each season, you may request to be added to our database. After that, you can simply call us a couple days ahead of your planned visit and we will have your gear ready for you when you walk in the door. No worries that your size won't be available or that we'll run out of gear if you have a long drive from your place to ours.
